Aberdeen City Council annual budget approved

Aberdeen councillors have approved the authority's annual revenue and capital budgets - including a council tax freeze and no cuts to jobs or services.

A total of £455m will be spent on services in the coming year.

A five-year capital plan of almost £400m was also agreed.

Proposals from the SNP for a £10m fund to buy and renovate buildings on Union Street, and calls for higher spending on roads maintenance from the Liberal Democrats, were rejected.

Aberdeen City Council has a Labour-led administration.
