Police have scaled down their search for a 35-year-old woman who has been missing for a week.

Shona Johnston was last seen in the Robert Street area of Stonehaven on 24 February. Her car was later discovered near Dunnottar Castle.

She moved to the Aberdeenshire town from Orkney last year.

Coastguard teams, an RAF helicopter, Stonehaven and Aberdeen lifeboats, and police with search dogs had taken part in the search.

Insp Jon Millar said: "Extensive inquiries have been carried out in the local area in a bid to trace Shona but we have still not found her. This is still a missing person inquiry and I would ask that anyone with information gets in touch with us.

"In addition, if anyone sees any clothing or belongings, or anything unusual, please contact us as this could be relevant to our inquiries. Searches have been scaled back but any new information will be considered and acted upon."
