Heavily pregnant sheep stolen from Kemnay farm

More than 30 sheep have been stolen from an Aberdeenshire farm a week before they were due to lamb.

The Beltex ewes disappeared from Cairnton farm near Kemnay, to the north side of the B993 Inverurie to Kemnay, road between Sunday and Monday.

Police Scotland said they were valued at a "low five-figure sum".

Officers want to trace a 4x4 vehicle with trailer which was suspected to have been involved.

PC Sam Goldie said: "This incident will be of great concern to local farmers and as such they are asked to be extra vigilant with their livestock."
