A new local history website giving access to archive material going back 400 years has had more than 50,000 hits in its first two weeks.

Thurso Interactive is a collaboration between Thurso Heritage Society and North Highland College UHI.

It includes vintage postcards and collections owned by society chairman and local historian Alan McIvor.

The material also includes maps, medals, documents, archive interviews and photographs.

Mr McIvor described the website as an "online museum".
