Keppie Design has been appointed as architect for the planned new £333m Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC).

Keppie was selected by Henry Boot Developments as part of a multi-disciplinary team which will deliver the project at Bucksburn, near Aberdeen International Airport.

The new centre will replace the existing Bridge of Don AECC.

The project plans were approved last month by Aberdeen City Council.

The conference centre will form part of the wider development of the Rowett North Masterplan.

The masterplan includes three hotels, an energy centre, office and leisure space, parkland and parking areas.
