Loganair flight lands in Aberdeen after engine shut down

A flight from Shetland has landed safely at Aberdeen International Airport after declaring an emergency as it headed to Edinburgh.

The Loganair Saab 340 from Sumburgh had 28 passengers and three crew on board.

An engine had to be shut down.

A Loganair spokesman said: "A warning indicator light came on and the captain took the decision to shut down one engine as a precaution and divert to the nearest airport." It landed at 08:40.
