Driver admits causing A98 death crash

A driver has admitted causing a head-on crash in Aberdeenshire in which a 20-year-old woman died.

Stefan Lodge, 41, from Ellon, admitted driving dangerously at excessive speed on the A98 Portsoy to Banff road in November 2013, causing the death of Nicole Clark, from Turriff.

The High Court in Glasgow heard he had been drinking lager beforehand.

Judge Lord Turnbull deferred sentence until next month and remanded Lodge in custody.
