Police hope climbers in the Cairngorms over the Easter holidays can help the search for a man missing for a month.

Jim Robertson, 61, from the Glasgow area, disappeared on a trip to the mountain range.

Police Scotland said further mountain rescue searches would be carried out during the Easter holiday period.

Mr Robertson is thought to have stayed in the Bob Scott Bothy, close to Derry Lodge, on the Mar Lodge Estate. He has been missing since 2 March.

Insp Matt Smith said: "We are now into the Easter holiday period and the hills are anticipated to be busy.

"We are keen to hear from anybody who sees anything which might assist us in our search for Jim.

"Police are still searching and we are working with mountain rescue teams from the Aberdeen and Braemar areas.

"There has been some fresh snow in the area and, weather permitting, we will be looking to utilise helicopter support."
