Petition aims to protect live music venues in Aberdeen

A petition which calls for Aberdeen City Council to protect live music by changing the way noise issues are dealt with is to be discussed.

Craig Adams, the owner of the city's Krakatoa - formerly The Moorings - has launched the petition.

The authority is being asked to adopt a policy which would see new venues being soundproofed.

It could also lead to developers of new housing next to existing venues being responsible for soundproofing them.

It is argued the move would protect music venues potentially facing closure over noise issues.
