Elgin primary school plan backed by Moray councillors

A new primary school is to be built on the southern outskirts of Elgin.

Moray Council's children and young people's services committee backed plans for the new building in what has been described as a "rapidly expanding" area.

A site at Linkwood Road has been identified. Before then, pupils will use temporary accommodation next to the existing East End Primary.

It is hoped the school will be built for the start of the 2018-19 session.

A name has still to be decided.
