Man sought over Aberdeen armed robbery

A man who carried out an armed robbery at an Aberdeen pharmacy is being sought by police.

The man - wielding what was believed to be a blunt weapon - escaped with medication from the Lewis Road Pharmacy in the Sheddocksley area at about 16:45 on Wednesday.

The suspect was described as being 6ft tall and aged between 20 and 30.

He was was wearing a black jacket, dark blue skinny jeans, black gloves and black shoes.

'Thankfully not injured'

Det Insp Stewart Drummond said: "The staff members in the shop were understandably shocked following this incident but were thankfully not injured.

"A full investigation, including speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV, is under way.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the Lewis Road area and who could have seen the man either before the time of the robbery or after to come forward and speak to us to assist us with our investigation."
