Probe into scores of Shetland sheep shootings

A police investigation has been launched into claims that scores of sheep have been shot dead on farms and crofts in Shetland.

The incidents have been around the Voxter area.

Farmer Allan Ridland said he had lost 97 sheep and lambs since the end of March last year, and also said that at least five other crofters in the area had also lost animals.

Police Scotland appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
