Aberdeen Highland Games cancelled due to bad weather
Aberdeen's annual Highland Games this weekend have been cancelled due to bad weather.
The event was due to be held at Hazlehead Park on Sunday.
However, Aberdeen City Council said heavy and persistent rain had left the venue waterlogged, adding that even if the rain stopped the ground would still not be suitable.
Meanwhile, the north east remains on flood alert. River levels remain high and some minor roads have been closed.
About 10,000 spectators had been expected to attend the Highland Games.
