A Scottish outdoor snowsports centre has enough snow to open three of its runs.

The Lecht in Aberdeenshire appears to be the only of Scotland's five outdoor snowsports centres to be able to open for winter pursuits on Thursday.

The centre along with CairnGorm Mountain, Glenshee, Nevis Range and Glencoe Mountain have had a challenging winter season.

A lack of snow, mild temperatures and high winds have been factors.

The Lecht, near Strathdon, is providing updates on snowsports conditions on its website.

Parts of Aberdeenshire and the Highlands had snowfalls during a period of wintry weather earlier this week.
