Woman, 81, freed from under wheels of lorry in Aberdeen

An 81-year-old woman has been seriously injured after being trapped under the wheel of a lorry in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Wellington Road near Lidl shortly after 10:00. The woman had been crossing the road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the woman was freed before being treated by paramedics.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said she was taken to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Sgt Neil Morrison of Police Scotland said: "A number of witnesses have already come forward and we would like to thank them for their time.

"However we would urge anyone who saw this incident and has not already come forward to do so."
