'No crime' after Elgin park assault investigation

Police have said no crime was committed after investigating reports a woman was assaulted in an Elgin park.

Officers had appealed for witnesses after reports of an incident involving a 28-year-old woman near the bowling club in the Moray town's Cooper Park in the early hours of Sunday 28 May.

Police wanted to trace four men who were in the area at the time.

Det Insp Alan Armit said: "We take all reports of crime seriously. We are satisfied the crime did not occur."
