Motorcyclist killed in Shetland crash named

A motorcyclist who died after a crash involving a truck in Shetland has been named.

Robert Gidney, 60, of Sandness, was involved in the accident on the B9071, between the villages of Aith and Voe, at about 17:00 on Monday.

He was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick for treatment but died on Tuesday morning.

Police Scotland said the male driver of the truck was uninjured.
