Three charged in connection with hare-coursing in Elgin

Three men have been charged in connection with alleged hare-coursing in the Elgin area.

Arrests were made following reports of an incident at Wester Calcots on Friday.

The men, aged 16, 20 and 35, from the Lhanbryde and Spean Bridge areas, were expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court.

PC Brian Donaldson, of Police Scotland, asked anyone with concerns about hare-coursing to contact police.

"Hare-coursing causes significant suffering to animals in the guise of sport and behaviour of such a cruel nature will not be tolerated," he said. "We will fully investigate all reports received."
