Aberdeen International Airport runway reopens after repairs

The runway at Aberdeen International Airport has reopened following repairs to a damaged section of the tarmac.

It had been been shut on Sunday due to safety concerns about possible damage. Several flights were diverted to other airports while health and safety inspections were carried out.

Repairs were carried out to a small section of the tarmac.

The airport has confirmed the runway was fully operational to arriving and departing flights.

BBC Scotland understands there were concerns about a possible hole in the runway.

The problem was first identified at about 17:30 on Sunday.
