Child services improving in Moray says Care Inspectorate report

Progress is being made in improving services for children in Moray, a report has said.

Fears were raised by the Care Inspectorate in February that improvements needed to be made.

It was reported that children experiencing neglectful parenting were exposed to risk for too long before decisive action was taken.

A follow-up review was carried out. The Care Inspectorate said it was confident the matter had been taken seriously.

A second review will be carried out in the next 12 months.

Karen Reid, chief executive of the Care Inspectorate, said: "We are pleased to note that some progress has been made on addressing the matters raised at our last inspection.

"Chief officers are beginning to deliver clearer leadership and direction, and have raised their aspirations for improving services."
