Stagecoach services in Fife were disrupted following a wildcat strike by bus drivers.

The Perth-based transport group said drivers at Aberhill bus depot took unofficial industrial action between 04:30 and shortly before 08:00 on Thursday.

A number of services were affected in Levenmouth, as well as some express services from Fife and Glasgow.

Stagecoach said all of its employees returned to work after the action.

No reason was given for the walkout.

The company said it apologised to any customers whose journeys may have been affected.

A spokesman added: "We have agreed to have discussions with union representatives to ensure any misunderstandings or grievances are resolved.

"However, we would make clear that we are committed to fully respecting any employee agreements and following the correct process in dealing with any internal personnel matters."
