New Aberdeen city centre hotel plan approved at Bruce Miller's site

Plans for a new hotel in Aberdeen city centre have been approved.

The application for a nine-storey 134-bedroom hotel is on Union Street at the site of the former Bruce Miller's shop and The Howff basement bar.

The new hotel is set to provide 20 full-time and 80 part-time jobs.

Aberdeen City Council's planning development management committee convener Ramsay Milne said: "The whole area will be improved by this hotel."

He added: "We do not have enough hotel rooms in Aberdeen.

"The prices are very, very high because the demand for rooms is so high. This has an impact on business and the local economy."
