Police probe over investment scheme

Police have launched a criminal investigation into an alleged fraudulent investment scheme linked to an Aberdeen-based company.

Police Scotland said they were investigating a scheme under the name of Midas Financial Solutions Scotland after being contacted by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Officers said inquiries were at an early stage.

The Financial Conduct Authority declined to comment.

No further details have been released about the scheme or how many people may have been affected.

A police spokesman said: "Police Scotland has been made aware of an alleged fraudulent scheme under the name of Midas Financial Solutions Scotland by the Financial Conduct Authority.

"A criminal investigation has been launched and inquiries are at an early stage.

"Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of economic crime is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."
