Call centre specialist Webhelp UK has announced plans to create about 400 new jobs at sites in East Ayrshire and Argyll.

The company said the move would double its workforce at Kilmarnock and Dunoon.

Webhelp added it was looking to recruit over the next few months in response to demand for its services.

Hiring is already under way at the company's offices in Kilmarnock, with recruitment due to start at Dunoon in May.

Webhelp said the two sites were spearheading its new Centre of Excellence programme, which includes creating workplace groups to help share skills and expertise, and flexible working.

Head of recruitment Allison Hill said: "We want Webhelp UK to be an employer of choice that the best people want to join and stay with us for years to come."
