Voters in Dunoon go to polls one week late

The electorate in one Argyll and Bute Council ward are going to the polls, a week after the rest of Scotland.

The vote was postponed in Dunoon's Ward 7 due to the death of SNP candidate Alister MacAlister.

It was rescheduled from last Thursday, during which electors in Scotland's 32 local authorities went to the ballot box, to this Thursday, 10 May.

Polls are open from 07:00 to 22:00 and the count for the three-councillor ward will take place at 22:30.
