Scottish independence: Alex Salmond to give New Statesman lecture

Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond will deliver a lecture on independence in London next Month.

He has been invited to set out his vision for the country's future at a New Statesman hosted event.

The lecture, which is titled "Scotland's Future in Scotland's Hands", will be followed by a question and answer session.

Editor of the political magazine, Jason Cowley, said he was delighted Mr Salmond had accepted the invitation.

Voters in Scotland go to the polls on Thursday, 18 September, when they will be asked the "yes/no" question: "Should Scotland be an independent country?"
