Hawick children face racial abuse charge

Three children have been charged with a breach of the peace following the alleged racial abuse of another youngster in the Borders.

It follows an incident at a house in the Burnfoot area of Hawick earlier this month.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said three children, aged 11, 10 and eight, had been charged.

He added that a report on the 14 August incident would now be submitted to the Children's Reporter.
