Man jailed for Dumfries and Galloway taxi driver attack

A man who assaulted a taxi driver, threatened to kill him and robbed him of about £80 has been jailed for three years and eight months.

Robert Dollery, 25, described as a prisoner at Dumfries, admitted the attack on Khuram Navi on the B7020 Templand Road near St Annes in June.

Dumfries Sheriff Court heard how he prevented the man from calling police.

Dollery admitted repeatedly punching, kicking and headbutting his victim before robbing him of the money.
