Clovenfords new school works set to begin

Preparatory work for a new school in a Scottish Borders village is to get under way within the next week.

Scottish Borders Council said it would try to keep disruption to a minimum during construction of an access road to the facility in Clovenfords.

The route will run from a roundabout on the A72 and require the diversion of an overhead power cable.

If satisfactory progress is made, the council said work on the school itself could begin near the end of October.
