Police probe Solway deer park shooting

Police have appealed for witnesses after a deer was found shot dead in a park in the south west of Scotland.

The incident happened some time before 1210 BST on Wednesday at the Bainloch Deer Park at Sandyhills on the Solway Coast.

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles in the area around that time.

The park near Dalbeattie runs guided tours and is home to a number of fallow, sika and red deer.
