Bridge laser targets A75 driver in Dumfries

Police have appealed for witnesses after a driver had a laser light shone into his eyes from a bridge over the A75.

The incident happened between the Bloomfield and Lockerbie Road roundabouts on the outskirts of Dumfries at about 2000 BST on Saturday.

The driver was unhurt but had to pull over into a lay-by to recover.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact them.

It is the second such incident in Dumfries in the past few weeks.

Last month a taxi driver was left with vision problems after a laser was shone into his eyes on the town's Glasgow Street.
