Woman sexually assaulted by two men in Kelloholm

A 44-year-old woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault by two men as she walked across a field, police have revealed.

The woman, was attacked in the village of Kelloholm, near Sanquhar, between 2300 BST and midnight on Thursday 30 September.

A police spokesman said the woman was the victim of a "horrific attack".

Police are appealing for information from anyone with information to contact them.

The woman was unable to describe her attackers.

Det Insp Chris Johnstone, of Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary, said: "This was a horrific attack on a lone female late at night.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have any information about this attack, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to get in touch."
