Nicola Sturgeon visits Borders hospital renal unit

Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon has visited Borders General Hospital before chairing the region's annual health board review.

She met staff and patients at the hospital's temporary renal unit where she heard about the new unit which is scheduled for completion in April.

Ms Sturgeon then headed the annual review which took place at the Corn Exchange in Melrose.

The event was open to the public and got under way at 1415 BST.
