Appeal over Dumfries and Galloway farm quad bike thefts

Police have appealed for information after quad bike thefts from two farms in the Lockerbie area.

In the first incident a red Honda 500 bike was stolen from Smallholm Farm at Hightae between 2130 BST on Thursday and 0730 BST on Friday.

In the second a red Honda TRX 420 was taken from Broomhills Farm between 1745 BST on Friday and 0700 BST on Saturday.

Police are keen to trace anyone who may have been in the area of either theft and has seen anything suspicious.

In particular they want to speak to anyone who may have seen a dark Ford Fiesta car being driven by a woman which was being followed by a male youth on a quad bike in Cuddy Lane.

The pair were spotted on the road, which runs from Dalston to the main A75, at about 0200 BST on Friday.
