New Kelso cemetery bid seeks approval

Planning officers have recommended approval for plans to build a new cemetery in the Borders.

Scottish Borders Council wants to create a burial ground on land south-east of Ferneyhill Toll House in Kelso.

The existing cemetery in the town is expected to reach capacity towards the end of this year.

As well as burial plots the proposal includes access roads, parking and paths and a pavilion to provide shelter.
