Scottish Conservative MP David Mundell has been hit by a pie during a visit to St Andrews in Fife.

Mr Mundell was confronted and heckled by student protesters near the town hall.

A Tory spokesman said the junior Scotland Office minister was hit from behind with a cake as he arrived for a party event, but was unfazed.

Police confirmed officers attended the scene, but Mr Mundell did not wish to make a complaint. No arrests were made.

Mr Mundell is Scotland's only Conservative MP and represents the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency.
