Gretna woman charged with attempted murder

A Gretna woman has appeared in court on a charge of attempted murder.

Lisa Watson, 19, of the town's Silverhill Place, was on a petition alleging the offence at Mossvale in Lochmaben at the weekend.

She appeared in private at Dumfries Sheriff Court accused of assaulting a man and repeatedly hitting him on the body with an unknown object.

Depute fiscal Joe MacPherson said no plea was made and the case was continued.
