Cyclist's body found by roadside in Borders

Police in the Borders have begun an investigation after the body of a cyclist was found by the roadside.

The body of 46-year-old Michael Hogg was discovered by a passing driver near South Lodge, Minto, on the Ancrum to Denholm road at 1700 GMT on Sunday.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Police said Mr Hogg, who was from Hawick, was found with injuries but it was not yet clear how he died.

They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
