Melrose election hustings set for constituency

Members of the public are being invited to question candidates for the Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale constituency.

BBC Scotland has organised a hustings event to be held at the Corn Exchange in Melrose on 10 April.

Candidates from the four main political parties will be part of the debate - one of a number being held in the run-up to Scottish elections on 5 May.

Proceedings, chaired by BBC Scotland's Cameron Buttle, get under way at 1830 BST with recording from 1900 to 2000 BST.

A similar event is planned for Dumfries later in the month.

It takes place on Thursday, 21 April, at Dumfries Academy's Minerva Hall.
