Dumfries man jailed over neighbour grudge fire

A man who started a fire in Dumfries because of a grudge against a neighbour has been jailed for 18 months.

The blaze spread to a nearby Italian restaurant causing damage costing more than £30,000.

Robert Keay, 36, who had been living in Bellvue Street, admitted committing the offence there last April.

At Dumfries Sheriff Court, he also admitted a charge of embezzling almost £5,000 while employed at Southerness Holiday Village in March 2007.
