ProStrakan Japanese sale deal approved
Shareholders in Galashiels-based drug firm ProStrakan have voted overwhelmingly to accept a £292m Japanese deal to buy the company.
It clears the way for Kyowa Hakko Kirin's takeover, which was announced last month, to proceed.
KHK is expected to use the Scottish firm as a springboard to get into the European and American markets.
As a result of the shareholder vote, the acquisition of ProStrakan is expected to complete on 20 April.
The Borders firm was founded 15 years ago and employs 300 people, about 80 of those at its headquarters in Galashiels.
