Explosion fear after farm fire prompts evacuation of 37
Fears of a gas explosion after a farm fire led to 37 people being evacuated from their homes in the early hours.
More than 30 firefighters attended the blaze which broke out in a workshop just after midnight at Brockholes Farm near Duns, Berwickshire.
A 200m cordon was set up due to concerns over acetylene cylinders in the building.
Local residents were housed locally until the scene was made safe. No-one was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old man was seriously injured while burning rubbish on a country estate near Stobo, Peeblesshire, on Friday.
He was rushed to St John's Hospital in Livingston suffering from burns to his face, neck and hands, after the incident at about 1745 BST.
A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
