Rochdale woman killed in A74(M) crash identified

Police have identified a woman who died following a crash on the A74(M) in the south of Scotland.

Pushpasany Sundramoorthy, 72, from Rochdale, was taken to Dumfries Infirmary for treatment but died as a result of her injuries.

Her car hit the central reservation on the northbound carriageway near Lockerbie at about 1735 BST on Friday.

No other vehicles were involved. A 24-year-old woman travelling in the car suffered minor injuries.

Dumfries and Galloway Police have asked anyone who may have seen the grey Toyota Avensis prior to the crash to contact them.
