Twynholm A75 crash victim identified

Police have identified a 52-year-old man who died after a crash on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway on Thursday.

Polish national Wojciech Grabowska, who lived in Gatehouse of Fleet, was hurt in the accident near Twynholm at about 0600 BST.

He was cut free from the wreckage and airlifted to Dumfries Infirmary where he died later in the day.

Three other men travelling in the silver Renault Megane being driven by Mr Grabowska suffered minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The three men who survived the accident, one aged 48 and two 25-year-olds, were also taken to Dumfries Infirmary.

Two were later released but one of the younger men was kept in overnight for observations.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or may have seen the vehicle prior to the incident.

The road was shut for nine hours while they carried out investigations.
