A72 crash leaves Belgian biker in hospital

A Belgian motorcyclist was being treated in hospital in Edinburgh after a collision with a car on the A72 in the Scottish Borders on Sunday.

Police said the 37-year-old suffered "various fractures" in the accident which took place at about 1200 BST.

It happened on the A72 near Castle Craig hospital at Blyth Bridge.

The motorcyclist was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.
