Heriot thieves steal thousands of trees

Police have appealed for public help after more than 3,000 trees were stolen from a farm in the Borders.

The incident happened at Nettling Flat Farm in Heriot north of Galashiels late last month.

Lothian and Borders Police said thousands of small, mixed broadleaf trees were taken some time between 23 May and 25 May.

They have asked anyone offered trees for sale or who spots a large number of newly planted trees to contact them.
