Stranraer pensioner faces road death trial

A pensioner is to go on trial on a charge of causing the death of a woman by careless driving in Stranraer.

John Agnew, 77, from the town, is alleged to have committed the offence in December 2009.

He is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout and causing his vehicle to collide with Emma McIntyre, 75, who suffered fatal injuries.

At Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court, the case was continued to 7 July and Mr Agnew was allowed bail.
