Scottish Borders Council's David Hume to stand down

Scottish Borders Council's chief executive is to step down after nine years due to a "change in his personal circumstances".

David Hume will leave his post with the authority on 15 August.

Council leader David Parker said he was grateful to the chief executive for his "loyal and dedicated service".

He said Mr Hume had shown commitment to the authority and the Borders and would leave with "the best wishes of all elected members and staff".
