Five hurt in road crash on A68 near Earlston

Three people have been freed by firefighters following a two-car crash on the A68.

The accident happened south of Earlston, on the main route between Edinburgh and the border at Carter Bar, shortly after 1300 BST.

Three adults and two children were taken to Borders General Hospital following the crash.

None of the injuries is thought to be life-threatening. The road was closed following the accident.
