Scottish Borders Council chief selection panel created

A group of 10 councillors has been selected to appoint a new chief executive to Scottish Borders Council.

David Hume, the current holder of the post, steps down next month after almost nine years at the helm.

He announced his decision earlier this month citing a "change in his personal circumstances".

Councillor Alec Nicol, who will chair the appointment process, said he hoped it could be completed by the end of October.
